Howard Alfred BLUBAUGH I⁽²⁸⁹⁾⁽²⁾⁽³⁾ was born on 26 May 1905 in Sedgwick KS. Howard grew up in the community of Bentley KS and lived also at Burrton KS. He now lives on the old home place which he farms, together with his sister, Edith Leora. They also raise cattle. He is a machinist and mechanic and has a well equipped machine shop on the farm. One of his hobbies is preserving past customs such as old methods of threshing wheat. He designed a miniature steam engine and separator. The outfit, though miniature, is complete in every detail and will thresh wheat very well. Demonstrations have been given at county fairs and old settlers gatherings. James Edward BLUBAUGH I⁽²⁹⁰⁾⁽²⁾⁽³⁾ was born on 11 Dec 1858. He died on 17 Aug 1944. He migrated about 1890 from Pennsylvania to Kansas and settled on a farm near Burton KS where he and his family lived all the resr of their lives. He and his wife were married MAR 31 1890. The trip was made using only one horse, the mother and one child riding with two children swung across the horse in sacks. The father walked the entire distance. He was commonly called "Mountain George". In 1808 the family moved to near Danville OH. John served on the Board of Trustees for St. Luke's Catholic Church in Danville in the early years, 1830's. Their children were all born in Ohio. John has been buried in St. Luke's Cemetery at Danville OH. His widow married Thomas Calkglesser. She is also buried in St. Luke's. Alfonsus "Faunce" Francis BLUBAUGH⁽³¹⁶⁾⁽²⁾⁽³⁾ was born on 21 Apr 1890 in Danville KS. He died on 3 Jul 1968. Alphonsus was a good citizen and businessman and known to his friends as "Faunce". In his early days when work in the oil fields was done with horses, he had several good teams and hired out to dig slush ponds, trenches for pipe, roads and any other available work. He invested his money wisely and became quite prosperous. He lived in Tonkawa OK after 1910 when his folks moved there from Danville KS. He shared in his father's oil royalties in the Three Sands Oil Fields of Tonkawa. After moving from Tonkawa to Danville he bought land one mile west and 1/2 mile south of town. The old two story frame house was reconditioned and the family lived there on the farm with many shade trees, good farm buildings and good soil. It was a beautiful place and he was a good farmer and stockman. He later built a large modern house and lived very comfortably. With the many heart aches in the deaths of his wives, all 4 died before him, this good kind man failed in health and suffered a stroke. He lived the remainder of his life alone. The Danville community benefited much by having this man as a citizen and neighbor.
He gave much to the support of the Catholic Church of Danville KS, also the school there, besides helping th organize the Farmers Co-op Association. He was buried in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, south of Danville KS. His second wife, Angeline Clara (Schneider) Blubaugh Blubaugh was the widow of CHARLES ALBERT BLUBAUGH 1894/1918 and "Faunce" raised but did not adopt her son, RALPH MAURICE BLUAUGH. Parents: Benjamin Franklin BLUBAUGH and Alvira COOK.

He was called back to active duty in 1950 during the Korean War and again discharged in 1951 after 1 year of service in a railroad operation. He and Joann married JUN 13 1953 in Holy Name Church in Columbus OH. He has been employed by Armstrong Furance Company since AUG 5 1955, working in development engineering 9 years and product sales and application 11 years to date. The past 5 years have been spent in specializing in the sale and applicaiton of air conditioning equipment to recreational vehicles and heating and air condtioning for mobile homes. He also conducts training seminars for heating and air condtioning equipment requiring travel all over the U.S. Sales promotion trips have also taken him and his wife to Spain, England, Hawaii and Mexico. He is handy with tools and has built several room addtions to accomodate the large family. His hobby is golf, which he plays once or twice weekly. He has played all over the world and has had 2 holes-in-one, normally playing in the low 80's. He and his family have lived in the north end of Columbus OH for 17 years at 2249 Ashley Drive and are members of the St. Matthias Chruch.
